What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
Energy Performance Certificates are a visual representation on a scale of
A-G of a dwellings energy and carbon footprint.
The EPC includes:
The energy efficiency rating
Predicted carbon emissions per year
Predicted running cost of lighting, heating and hot water per year
Recommendations on ways to improve the home's energy efficiency
Do I need one?
The UK Government have introduced new legislation applicable from April 6 2008. From this date a final completion certificate for a new home can only be issued by building control when they are satisfied that an EPC has been provided. All new homes built and physically complete on or after the 6th of April 2008, will need to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The government have specified it is the responsibility of the builder to provide an EPC.
How much does an EPC cost?
An EPC can either be produced on its own or together with a SAP calculation. Please contact us for a quotation.
